Insulated ball bearing

Due to current leakage, bearings used in electrical equipment (such as motors and generators) often suffer from electric pitting corrosion. The current existing near the bearing can flow through the bearing, causing the current to form an arc between the rolling element and the rolling surface. The generated arc will raise the temperature of steel at the arc point, change the material structure of steel, and finally lead to bearing failure. This electric pitting can be prevented by coated bearings or ceramic hybrid bearings.
